Your history lesson is somewhat inadequate.

I see no mention of the greatest mass murder machine in world history...The Gulags.

Millions of believers left to succumb to disease, starvation or just outright murdered BECAUSE of the atheistic hatred of all religion enforced by the Dialectical Materialists. (Read all about it in the Three Volume Gulag Archipelago series by Alexander Solzhenitsyn.)

And no credit given to the atheistic scientists (Dawkins assures us that most scientists are atheists) who have filled the world with Chemical, Biological, and Nuclear Weapons...enough destroy civilization in an afternoon.

Andrew: "I see no mention of the greatest mass murder machine in world history...The Gulags."

I've read plenty of Solzhenitsyn and similar writers myself. And while it is true that the gulags and other atrocities committed under the Communists are indefensible, they were not committed under the sanction of a pope. But your objection also misses the crucial point, one which even the presuppositionalists have repeated in their apologetic. They are constantly telling us that non-Christians borrow their morality from the Christian worldview. I would say that, in the case of the Communists, they're right: the Communists are a great case in point of non-Christian borrowing from the Christian worldview. The men and women who were sent to the gulags under Stalin, for example, were being sacrificed, just as Jesus was sacrificed on the cross and just as Paul in Romans says every one should present himself as a living sacrifice. Just as Christianity teaches, the Communists operated on a morality infused with sacrifice.

Regards,
Dawson

Quite wrong, Andrew. The Communists were not atheists. They were strong believers in the religion of Communism.
